SDO is registered as Non-for Profit Company in Joint Stock Companies & Firms AJ&K (#224 Mzd) under “The Companies Ordinance, 1984 u/section 42”. Its’ program areas are education, energy, health, livelihood, rural development, bio-diversity conservation, humanitarian and WatSan in-line with SDGs.

1.      About Sustainable Development Organization (SDO)

It is working on themes of education, energy, health, livelihood (including skill enhancement), rural development and water.

2.      About the Assignment
Currently, SDO is implementing a project in collaboration with TDEA/USAID/AFGP; under the project SDO will develop website for the social entrepreneurs / artisans and e-marketing platform/resource for the artisans /social entrepreneurs. To reach more people the website will be promoted via social media (i.e facebook, twitter, instagram).  The general public and businesses will have also free access to the portal.
The portal shall contain (but not limited to) following attributes:
Ø  Develop the products catalog for the indigenous Kashmiri artisans.
Ø  Complete information on different Kashmiri handicrafts and dresses.
Ø  Knowledge and history on Kashmiri culture and arts
Ø  Contact directory of the sector businesses / stakeholders / government.
Ø  Information about the registration process for the enterprises with SECP, Small industries and Chamber of Commerce.
Ø  Establish platforms for sharing of Open Education Resources (OER) for social entrepreneurs in specific and public in general.
Ø  Containing OER for TVET including online courses, curricula contents and business feasibilities related to Kashmiri artisans.
Ø  Information on skills development TVET / training institutes working in Muzaffarabad AJ&K
Ø  Information on financing and grants available for the social entrepreneurs.


3.      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ø  The IT  consultant will hold the responsibility to design and develop the  website in close coordination with SDO team working under the project  Socio Economic Empowerment of the Kashmiri Entrepreneurs funded by  TDEA/USAID/AFGP
Ø  The IT Consultant will hold overall responsibility in terms of work related to the development of website as per the quality standards/requirements as needed/demanded by the organization
Ø  The IT consultant will ensure development of the website in line with the requirements of the organization including  clear catalogues & folders,  attractive page layout, easy to use, update and maintain flexible navigation & search function; Create HTML documents and graphics for implementation in the Web and web pages should be responsive
Ø  The IT Consultant will ensure that website will display all the products made by artisans with aiming to the marketing and business promotions
Ø  The IT consultant will ensure that the website capacious enough to accommodate online booking order  directly from  the buyers / customers and it shall link  the artisans through EFDC setup
Ø  The consultant shall make provision in the website to show number of visitors visited the website, likes and comments
Ø  The consultant shall design and maintain Facebook/Twitter/Instagram Pages ,and he/she will be responsible for uploading pictures and videos on regular basis
Ø  The IT consultant with the coordination of program department of the project will ensure regular updates in terms of various  communication materials, including success stories and development, briefings, articles, statements, speeches, fact-sheets, publicity materials, videos, , press releases, and write ups about different events undertaken in relation to promote the Kashmiri culture and efforts exerted for the uplift Kashmiri artisans
Ø  The IT Consultant shall ensure regular maintenance of website and social media pages
Ø  The IT Consultant will report to the Program Manager


4.      QUALIFICATION/SELECTION CRITERIA 
Ø  The candidate must have rich experience (minimum two years) in the field of web development
Ø  The candidate must have proven and solid knowledge and experience in providing similar service
Ø  Solid knowledge on website security and website hosting service
Ø  The candidate should possess professional degree in the field of IT (M.S /B.S in Software Engineering from reputable institution)
Ø  Individuals living in the city Muzaffarabad shall be given preference
Ø  SDO believes in equal employment opportunities

5.      CONTRACT DURATION & REMUNERATION:
Ø  The contract period will 5-months (February 05, 2020 to July 06, 2020).
Ø  The remuneration is negotiable as per available project budget.

Trainer for Kashmir Embroidery & Gaba Sazi

Project Title: Socio-Economic Empowerment of Kashmiri Women Entrepreneurs

It is working on themes of education, energy, health, livelihood (including skill enhancement), rural development and water.


ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENT:

SDO through its project, Socio Economic Empowerment of the Kashmiri Women Entrepreneurs has planned to provide the advance level skills development training to 100 women artisans in Kashmiri Embroidery and Gabba Sazi. After completion of training, these 100 women trained by SDO and other 50 artisans trained by
Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will be provided the Business Management and Development Training to establish /enhance their enterprises. For the provision of effective advance level training we are currently hiring professional trainers to fill the positions ‘Trainer for Kashmiri Embroidery’ and ‘Trainer for Gaba Sazi’.


TOTAL POSITIONS:

Kashmiri Embroidery = 04 Positions (Trainers)
Gaba Sazi =                         01 Position (Trainer)


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate during the course of her assignment with SDO will perform following responsibilities:
Ø  The 04 trainers will be responsible to train the beneficiaries in Kashmiri Embroidery. However 01 trainer will be responsible to build the capacity of participants in Gaba Sazi in accordance with the guidelines of SDO Completion of training within the timeframe of three months
Ø  Provision of training as per training manual provided by TEVTA
Ø  Ensuring 100% attendance during training/working days
Ø  Managing the classes with discipline 
Ø  Managing proper attendance record of trainees and its submission to SDO
Ø  Following SDOs policies, procedures and code of conduct
Ø  Reporting to SDO Project Manager
Ø  The trainer should be sensitive to local culture and gender practices in the areas.


Deliverables and responsibilities of Consultant
Communication medium for the master trainer will be in local Language for the understanding and convenience of participants. It is expected that the trainer will encourage women entrepreneurs to actively participate and enable them to learn the skills through a positive learning environment. Whenever possible, the trainer will address the needs of the trainees, particularly in terms of session schedule and methods. 

Ø  Prior submission of work plan, training methodology and tools in accordance with current practices and standards to be used in tailoring and embellishment training taking into consideration the information given by SDO.
Ø  Expert in product development, color combination, tracing, all type of embellishment according to market demand and fashion trend
Ø  Expert in different types embroidery and accessories as per the market standards
Ø  The trainer will agree to be available on any day during the agreement period and will not agree to any other consultancy work offered by any other organizations
Ø  Boarding, lodging and transport of the trainer will be the sole responsibility of the trainer
Ø  The trainer will not share and disseminate the information with other organization and/ or for any purpose in any form without the consent of the SDO
Ø  The consultant will submit a monthly training report in Urdu to skill enhancement officers
Ø  If the given tasks will not be completed within given period then trainer will be responsible to complete her tasks in extended days without any payment
Ø  Any other deliverable expected to be received from the trainer on daily/weekly or monthly basis by SDO.

SELECTION CRITERIA/QUALIFICATION:

Ø  Minimum education of Matric (SSC certificate holder)
Ø  Must have diploma/certificate in Kashmiri Embroidery/Gaba Sazi from reputable institutes
Ø  Must have 4 to 6 years of experience in Kashmiri Embroidery & Aar Work
Ø  Must have training & facilitation skills
